Thanks for booking with the Ammarin Bedouin Camp.

Please note the payment must be handled at the camp: we accept only CASH and only JORDAN Dinars.

Indeed you have NOT paid on line.

CANCELLATION

In case you change your mind and decide not to come any more, PLEASE cancel your reservation IN TIME to not waste dinner food and make us wait for you in vain. There is NO cancellation fee and it’s a matter of respect.

MEAL TIME

Breakfast is from 7 to 9 am

Dinner is at 7 pm (winter time) and at 8 pm (summer time). Kindly note times switch when clock changes

In summer dinner is  at 7.30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday  IF we have guests attending “Petra by night” show. Please  inform us AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you’re going to Petra by night, in order to set dinner time.

MEAL PLAN

Please specify  as soon as possible if you are vegetarian or have allergies.  If you are gluten free, please bring your own  wraps/bread, and we will use these for you.

Traditional  tea is included and complimentary.

Water is offered with meals. If you need some more, bottles of water are sold at the price of  1 JD.

Alcohol is not served nor appreciated

HOT WATER 

It is available from 5.30 pm to 10 am (winter time); from 6.30 pm to 10 am (summer time). However, we’re installing a solar thermal system!

ELECTRICITY

We switch off lights in the common tent  at 10/11 PM but you’ll have light in your tent. We just kindly ask you to switch it off if you don’t need it!

You may charge electronic devices in you tents ANY time OR in the common tent when electricity is available: in winter time from 5 pm to 10 pm; in summer time from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Internet access is NOT available.

CULTURAL TIP

Visitors, especially women, are advised to dress properly (no revealing outfit). This not only shows respect for the culture, but also will help you be accepted.

LUNCH BOX

We can prepare lunch boxes upon request: order 1 morning before!

Each lunch box costs 8 JD and contains: Bread, Boiled egg, Tuna, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, 1 Fruit, Dried fruit, Dates, Pistachios, Snack, Juice.

FREE PARKING

We do have free parking INSIDE the camp, but cars should be parked  at the parking lot by the entrance (no farther than 90 m from the tents) as we are an archeological area.

SHUTTLE SERVICE 

We can pick you up and drop you back to:

– Petra’s Visitor Centre ( 7 JD). The meeting point is in front of the Jett bus parking lot.  Back to the Visitor centre, turn left and go up the street, by passing the Petra’s Museum. ON the left side you’ll find the Jett Bus parking. Please cross the street and you’ll find us waiting for you there!

– OR into Wadi Mousa town (10 JD).

In both cases the prices are per vehicle (up to 4 people) and per trip.

ACTIVITIES

We can arrange any kind of activity: camel/horse riding, guided hikes, transfers to/from any location in Jordan and day trips. Please have a look at our website for available activities.

You are kindly requested to pay all the activities when you check out of the camp

WHAT TO BRING:

Bring personal items including TOWELS and a flashlight. Even in the summer evenings can be cool, so bring warm clothing.  The camp provides pillows and blankets with bedding sets, but NO towels. You can bring your own sleeping bag if you wish.

For hiking, you’ll need comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. For camel caravans, don’t forget long pants.

We are in Beidha: only a 15 minute drive away from Petra and a 10 minute walk from Little Petra archeological site (Siq Al Barid)

Thanks for supporting the sustainable community development project for the Ammarin tribe through your stay.  Our camp is in fact the only authentic Bedouin camp in Petra and the only one run by a whole community (no single owners).
